Our Lady of La Leche Print
This is the perfect print for mamas as well as those experiencing infertility or pregnancy complications. Display it proudly in a nursery and be reminded to call on Our Lady during those late night feedings. Our Lady of La Leche, pray for us!
In 1565, a Spanish admiral and explorer named Pedro Menéndez de Aviles established St. Augustine, Florida, which is considered the country’s oldest city. He declared the land was for Spain and the Catholic Church, and the explorers celebrated the first ever Catholic Mass in the United States that day. Pedro and his settlers brought their devotion to Mary to the newly-formed city, dedicating the land to "Our Lady of the Milk and Good Delivery." Since the 1600s, a statue of Mary nursing the baby Jesus has resided in St. Augustine at the National Shrine. Our Lady of La Leche is commonly visited by those bringing prayers regarding pregnancy.
